Stadium Overview

Croud Meadow, formerly known for many years as New Meadow, has been Shrewsbury Town’s home since 2007. It sits just south of Shrewsbury town centre and replaced Gay Meadow, giving the club a modern all-seater stadium with better access, parking and facilities.

The ground is a neat four-sided stadium with separate stands close to the pitch. The Roland Wycherley Stand is the main stand, with hospitality and club facilities. The Salop Leisure South Stand, DMOS People West Stand and other seated areas complete the enclosed modern layout.

Croud Meadow is clean, practical and easy to navigate. It does not have the historic riverside charm of Gay Meadow, but it is comfortable for supporters and has good sightlines throughout. The all-seater design makes it one of the more straightforward modern grounds in the division.

Away End

Away supporters are normally housed behind one goal in the DMOS People West Stand / away end area, depending on current sponsorship and fixture arrangements. This is a covered all-seater section with a clear view of the pitch.

Away allocations can vary depending on expected travelling numbers and segregation needs. Visiting supporters should follow the ticket and access details issued by their own club, especially for fixtures where sales are advance-only or where coach travel and parking instructions are specific.

The away end is modern and functional, with decent facilities by League Two standards. The ground is outside the town centre, so the main thing for travelling fans is planning transport, parking and the final approach rather than expecting a traditional town-centre stadium setting.

Matchday Advice

Croud Meadow is located south of Shrewsbury town centre and is accessed from Oteley Road. It is a modern out-of-town stadium, so planning the final part of the journey is important, especially if travelling by train.

Shrewsbury railway station is not next to the ground, so supporters arriving by rail should expect a bus, taxi or longer walk. Drivers should check matchday parking arrangements in advance, as stadium and nearby parking can vary by fixture and demand.

For neutral supporters, a side-on seat gives the best overall view. Families and first-time visitors may prefer quieter home areas, while the main home atmosphere can vary by fixture. Away supporters should head for the designated away end and allow time for ticket collection, parking or coach drop-off.

Tickets

Shrewsbury Town tickets are sold through the club’s official ticketing channels, including online and ticket office sales. Advance purchase is recommended, particularly for fixtures with stronger demand.

Away supporters should buy through their own club once Shrewsbury releases the allocation. Visiting fans should check their club’s ticket announcement for prices, sales phases, collection arrangements, disabled tickets, coach travel and whether pay-on-the-day is available.

For home neutrals, central side-on seating is usually the best choice for comfort and view. Supporters wanting a livelier home atmosphere should choose the appropriate home end or vocal area, while away supporters should use the designated away allocation only.

Stadium Rules

Standard EFL ground regulations apply at Croud Meadow. Supporters should expect checks around bags, alcohol, pyrotechnics, discriminatory behaviour, offensive chanting and entering the field of play.

Supporters should use the correct entrance shown on their ticket and follow steward instructions around segregation, car parks and coach areas. Because the stadium is accessed from a main road and sits outside the town centre, traffic management instructions are important before and after the game.

The stadium has hosted high-profile neutral and European fixtures in recent seasons, and Shrewsbury have previously had to respond to damage caused by visiting supporters. Fans should respect the facilities, seating and fan zones, and any vandalism or disorder is likely to be dealt with firmly.

Accessibility

Croud Meadow is a modern all-seater stadium and is more accessible than many older lower-league grounds, but supporters with access needs should still arrange details in advance. Wheelchair spaces, companion tickets, accessible toilets and step-free routes can depend on the stand and ticket allocation.

Away disabled supporters should book through their own club and confirm final arrangements with Shrewsbury Town if required. Parking, drop-off points, accessible entrances and companion seating should all be checked before matchday.

Because the stadium is outside the town centre and not immediately beside the railway station, disabled supporters using public transport should plan the final leg carefully. A taxi, bus or pre-arranged transport may be more suitable than walking from Shrewsbury station.

Stadium Tours

There does not appear to be a regular public stadium tour programme at Croud Meadow. Shrewsbury Town use the stadium for hospitality, conferences and events, and occasional behind-the-scenes access may happen through community, school or club activity, but routine bookable football stadium tours are not clearly advertised as a regular offer.

Supporters interested in a tour-style visit should check directly with Shrewsbury Town for any special opportunities rather than assuming tours are available.
