Fleetwood Town

Park Avenue, Fleetwood, Lancashire, FY7 6TX

Fleetwood Town are based at Highbury Stadium and have one of the most dramatic modern rises in English football. The club climbed from non-league football into the EFL and reached League One, backed by a strong coastal identity and the Cod Army nickname. Stadium Overview

Highbury Stadium is Fleetwood Town’s compact home on the Fylde coast. It is a small, tight ground in a residential area, and despite modern development it still feels very different from larger out-of-town EFL stadiums.

The most distinctive feature is the Parkside Stand, a modern seated stand running along one side of the pitch and containing the main club facilities. Opposite is the Highbury Stand, while behind the goals are the Percy Ronson Terrace and the Memorial Stand. The stadium is compact, with supporters close to the pitch throughout.

Highbury is not a large ground, but that closeness is part of its appeal. The mix of a modern main stand, small terraces and tight surrounding streets gives it a traditional lower-league feel. Facilities are practical rather than extensive, and the matchday experience can feel busy when a club brings a decent away following.

Away End

Away supporters at Highbury Stadium are usually housed in the Percy Ronson Terrace behind one goal, with seating also available in the Parkside Stand depending on allocation and demand. Away guides confirm that terrace supporters normally enter through away turnstiles 1-3 at the junction of Hatfield Avenue and Highbury Avenue, while away seating in the Parkside Stand uses turnstiles near the club shop and ticket office on Park Avenue.

The Percy Ronson Terrace is a covered standing area and can create a strong away atmosphere because it is compact and close to the pitch. The Parkside Stand seats offer a better option for families, older supporters or anyone who does not want to stand.

Supporters should check their ticket carefully because the terrace and seating areas use different entrances on different sides of the stadium. Turnstiles generally open around 90 minutes before kick-off, and arriving early helps because the streets around the stadium are tight.

Matchday Advice

Fleetwood is not directly served by a mainline railway station, so most supporters travelling by public transport will use Blackpool North or Poulton-le-Fylde and continue by bus, tram or taxi. The coastal tram network can be useful, but journey times should be checked carefully, especially for evening matches.

Parking around Highbury Stadium is mostly street-based and limited, with no large dedicated away car park at the ground. Supporters driving should arrive early, park legally and respect the residential streets around the stadium.

For neutral supporters, the Parkside Stand gives the best seated view and the most modern facilities. The home atmosphere is usually strongest behind the goal or in the more compact home areas, while away supporters are normally split between the Percy Ronson Terrace and Parkside Stand seats. Check whether the stadium is operating cashless arrangements before travelling, as Fleetwood have used cashless venue policies in the past.

Tickets

Fleetwood Town tickets are sold through the club’s official ticketing channels, with online or advance purchase recommended. Matchday sales can vary depending on the fixture and expected attendance.

Away tickets are normally sold through the visiting club once the allocation is issued. Supporters should check whether their ticket is for the Percy Ronson Terrace or Parkside Stand seating, as the entrance, view and matchday experience are different. Pay-on-the-day arrangements are not guaranteed and depend on sales and match classification.

For neutrals, the Parkside Stand is usually the best choice for comfort and view. Supporters wanting a more traditional atmosphere may prefer terrace areas, while families or first-time visitors may find seated areas easier.

Stadium Rules

Standard EFL stadium regulations apply at Highbury Stadium. Supporters should expect checks around bags, alcohol, pyrotechnics, discriminatory behaviour, offensive chanting and entering the field of play.

Supporters must use the entrance shown on their ticket because the Percy Ronson Terrace and Parkside Stand seating are accessed from different sides of the stadium. Stewards will direct supporters around segregation routes where necessary.

Fleetwood Town have previously operated Highbury Stadium and club venues as cashless, so supporters should take card or contactless payment rather than relying on cash. Parking restrictions and residential access around the stadium should also be respected.

Accessibility

Fleetwood Town publish an access statement for Highbury Stadium and provide disabled supporter arrangements through the club. Because the stadium is compact and partly traditional in layout, supporters with access needs should arrange tickets and matchday details in advance.

Away disabled supporters should contact their own club or Fleetwood before travelling to confirm wheelchair spaces, companion tickets, accessible toilets, parking and the correct entrance. Some away guidance has listed a small number of wheelchair-accessible spaces for visiting supporters, so availability should not be assumed.

The surrounding streets can be busy and tight on matchdays, and public transport links usually involve a connection from a nearby rail station. Supporters with mobility needs should plan the final part of the journey carefully.

Stadium Tours

There does not appear to be a regular public stadium tour programme at Highbury Stadium. Fleetwood Town may occasionally provide access through community, hospitality, school or club events, but standard bookable stadium tours do not appear to be a regular public offer.

Supporters interested in behind-the-scenes access should check directly with Fleetwood Town for any one-off events rather than assuming tours are available.
