Everton

Bramley-Moore Dock, Liverpool, Merseyside, L5 9SR

Everton were founded in 1878 and are one of English football's oldest and most historic clubs. The club were founder members of the Football League and later the Premier League, spending more seasons in the top flight than almost any other English side. After more than a century at Goodison Park, Everton moved to their new waterfront stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, now known as Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Stadium Overview

Hill Dickinson Stadium is Everton's new waterfront home at Bramley-Moore Dock, replacing Goodison Park after more than a century at the club's old ground. It is a modern, purpose-built football stadium with a listed capacity of just over 52,000 and sits on Liverpool's northern dockland, giving it a very different setting from the tight residential streets around Goodison. The stadium is designed as a large enclosed bowl, but with a strong home-end identity and a steep, modern seating profile intended to keep supporters close to the pitch.

The South Stand is the most important home-atmosphere area and was designed as a large single-tier stand, giving Everton a clear focal point similar in spirit to Goodison's old Gwladys Street End. The other stands wrap around the pitch with modern concourses, hospitality areas, premium seating and improved sightlines compared with the older stadium. The exterior is also a major part of the ground's identity, combining new-build stadium architecture with the historic dockside setting.

Because this is still a relatively new Premier League venue, matchday routines are continuing to bed in. Supporters should expect a more modern stadium experience than Goodison, with better space and facilities, but also a different atmosphere and different travel patterns. The ground is not in the traditional city-centre pub circuit and not beside Liverpool Lime Street, so the matchday build-up depends heavily on planned routes, fan zones, waterfront approaches and public transport arrangements.

Away End

Away supporters at Hill Dickinson Stadium are expected to be housed in a segregated section of the north/east side of the stadium bowl, with the exact blocks and entrance details confirmed fixture by fixture by Everton and the visiting club. As with other Premier League grounds, the standard away allocation is normally around 3,000 unless cup rules or safety arrangements change the number.

The key difference from Goodison Park is the wider dockland setting. Away fans should not expect the same tight residential approach or the same established away-pub routine. Visiting supporters will usually be directed towards specific entrances, coach drop-off points and stewarded routes, with police and stewards controlling movement around the stadium depending on the fixture.

The view should be much improved compared with many older away ends, with modern seating, no traditional roof-support pillars and better concourse facilities. However, because the stadium is still new, away supporters should check their own club's official guide before every visit, particularly for entrance numbers, coach parking, ticket collections and post-match exit routes.

Matchday Advice

The most important advice for Hill Dickinson Stadium is to plan the journey in advance. The stadium is on the Liverpool waterfront at Bramley-Moore Dock, not in the old Goodison Park neighbourhood and not in the immediate city centre. Public transport, Merseyrail connections, shuttle buses, walking routes and pre-booked parking should all be checked before travelling.

Sandhills is the nearest Merseyrail station and is commonly referred to in stadium travel plans, but it is still a walk from the ground and will be busy on matchdays. Supporters travelling into Liverpool Lime Street should allow time to transfer through the city or connect with Merseyrail services. Driving directly to the dock area without pre-booked parking is not recommended because road closures, traffic management and limited local parking are likely to be part of the normal matchday operation.

Arrive early, especially while the stadium is still settling into full Premier League use. New stadiums often have teething issues with signage, concourse flow, queues and transport habits. If visiting as a neutral, take time to walk the waterfront approach and see the stadium exterior, but leave enough time to reach the correct entrance because the outer perimeter is much larger than at Goodison.

Tickets

Everton home tickets are sold through the club's official ticketing channels, with priority normally given to season-ticket holders, members and supporters with booking history. Demand is likely to remain high in the early years of Hill Dickinson Stadium because it is still a new ground and many supporters will want to experience the move from Goodison Park.

For neutral supporters, the side stands are likely to provide the best overall view and the least partisan experience. The South Stand is the main home-atmosphere end and is best suited to Everton supporters wanting to be part of the loudest area. Seats close to the away section may be more lively and should not be the first choice for someone wanting a quieter visit.

Away tickets are sold by the visiting club, not by Everton. Travelling supporters should follow their own club's loyalty-point, sales-window and collection rules. Because the stadium is new, away fans should pay particular attention to digital-ticket instructions, entrance details and any match-specific collection or identification requirements.

Stadium Rules

Hill Dickinson Stadium operates standard Premier League ground regulations, including searches on entry, no pyrotechnics, no pitch encroachment, no discriminatory behaviour and no alcohol consumption in view of the pitch. Supporters should use the entrance shown on their ticket and follow steward instructions around segregated areas.

The stadium operates modern security and bag controls. Supporters should travel light and avoid bringing large bags or luggage, as oversized items may not be permitted. Bag rules should be checked before travelling because new stadium policies can be updated as matchday operations develop.

Because the stadium sits within a major dockland redevelopment area, supporters should also respect road closures, resident and business access restrictions, and managed pedestrian routes. Do not assume that every waterfront path or road around the stadium will be open on matchdays.

Accessibility

Hill Dickinson Stadium was designed as a modern accessible venue, with wheelchair-user spaces, companion seating, lifts, accessible toilets and improved concourse facilities compared with Everton's former home. Disabled supporters should still check the latest official Everton access information before attending because arrangements may vary by stand, ticket type and matchday operation.

Away disabled supporters should buy through the visiting club and confirm their exact entrance, viewing position, companion-seat location and parking or coach arrangements before travelling. As with most Premier League grounds, accessible away spaces are limited and usually sold through the away club's access-ticketing process.

The stadium itself is modern, but the wider journey is important. The dockland location means supporters may need to consider walking distance from Sandhills, shuttle arrangements, accessible parking, taxi drop-off points and post-match crowd flow. Anyone with mobility needs should plan the full route, not just the seat location.

Stadium Tours

Hill Dickinson Stadium offers official stadium tours, giving supporters the chance to see Everton's new home away from a normal matchday. The tour product is advertised through the stadium's official website and includes group booking options, making it clear that the venue is being used as a visitor attraction as well as a football ground.

Tour routes, opening dates and access may vary around fixtures, concerts, private events and stadium operations. Visitors should book through the official Hill Dickinson Stadium or Everton channels and check the latest arrival, bag and accessibility information before travelling.
