Torquay United are based at Plainmoor and are one of the biggest historic names in National League South. The Gulls have spent many years in the Football League, carry strong Devon support and remain one of the most recognisable clubs in south-west football.
Plainmoor is Torquay United's long-standing home and one of the bigger, more established stadiums in the National League South. It has hosted Football League and National League football for many years, so the ground feels more developed and structured than a lot of Step 2 venues.
The stadium has four distinct sides. Bristow's Bench is the main all-seated stand and gives one of the best elevated views in the ground. Opposite is the covered Popside terrace, traditionally one of the livelier home areas. The Family Stand is an all-seater stand behind one goal, while the Wollens Away Terrace / Riviera Rentals end is the main away standing area when visiting supporters are segregated.
For neutral supporters, Bristow's Bench and the Family Stand offer the best comfort and sightlines. Those wanting a more traditional terrace atmosphere will usually prefer the Popside, although access to different areas depends on ticketing and whether the fixture is segregated.
Away supporters at Plainmoor are normally located either in the Wollens Away Terrace or in Bristow's Bench Block A, depending on the fixture, expected away following and whether seating is required. Torquay United's own visitor information states that away turnstiles are located just off Warbro Road, with turnstiles 9, 10 and 11 designated for away supporters.
The Wollens Away Terrace is a covered standing terrace behind one goal and is the more traditional away allocation. Bristow's Bench Block A provides seated accommodation where away seating is made available. For bigger fixtures, away allocations and ticket categories can be more tightly controlled.
Away supporters should follow Torquay's match-specific ticket information rather than assuming the same allocation applies every time. If you require a seat, accessible space or assistance, contact the club before travelling because the default away area may be standing.

Plainmoor is in a built-up area of Torquay, so parking close to the stadium can be limited and residential restrictions should be respected. Arrive early if driving, or consider using public transport and walking from the town or station area if practical.
Away fans should head for Warbro Road and the designated away turnstiles if segregation is in place. The route involves a short walk down a quieter lane, so allow time rather than arriving right on kick-off. For higher-profile games, queues can form around the away entrance.
Plainmoor is a proper football ground and a strong away day at this level, but it is more structured than many smaller National League South venues. Check your ticket area in advance, especially if you want seating rather than terrace standing. For neutrals, Bristow's Bench is usually the best viewing option, while the Popside offers the more atmospheric home terrace experience.
Torquay United sell tickets online through their ticketing platform and also publish match-by-match ticket information. For some fixtures, home and away fans may be able to buy on the day, but larger games can sell quickly and away supporters should check availability before travelling.
Away fans should use the correct away ticket category, whether that is the Wollens Away Terrace for standing or Bristow's Bench Block A for seating. Buying a home ticket for a segregated fixture may lead to refusal of entry or redirection by stewards.
For neutral supporters, seated tickets in Bristow's Bench or the Family Stand are the best choice for comfort. Terrace tickets give the more traditional matchday feel. If seating is important, buy early because popular blocks can sell out for bigger fixtures.
Torquay United apply standard football ground regulations, including ticket checks, steward instructions, restrictions on alcohol, pyrotechnics, pitch encroachment and abusive or discriminatory behaviour.
Supporters must use the correct turnstiles and remain in their allocated area when segregation is in place. Away supporters should use turnstiles 9, 10 and 11 off Warbro Road unless the club publishes different fixture-specific instructions.
As Plainmoor is in a residential area, supporters should be considerate when arriving and leaving, particularly with parking, noise and movement through nearby streets.
Torquay United ask supporters requiring assistance to contact the club before travelling. Away supporters who need a wheelchair space, accessible seating, companion ticket or other help should check arrangements in advance, especially because the standard away allocation can involve terrace standing.
Bristow's Bench may be the more practical area for away supporters requiring seating, but availability depends on the fixture and allocation. Supporters should not leave access requests until they reach the turnstile.
Disabled supporters should also plan arrival carefully, as the away entrance is off Warbro Road and involves a separate approach from the main home areas.
Torquay United do not appear to operate regular public stadium tours of Plainmoor as a standard visitor attraction. The stadium is primarily a working football venue rather than a tour-led site.
Supporters interested in group visits, community arrangements or non-matchday access should contact the club directly. For most visitors, attending a Torquay United home match is the practical way to experience Plainmoor.
